Ciao! This weekend Alex heads to Imola for the first of two Italian races in 2024 - The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
It will be the third time Albono has raced here after the weekend was cancelled in 2023 due to floods in the region.
After 14 years away from the calendar, the 19-turn Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari returned to the racing schedule in 2020, with Alex debuting at the circuit for Red Bull Racing in his second season in F1.
The historic track boasts some of the most iconic turn sequences in motorsport, such as the fast left-hander of Piratella that descends into the double-apex right-hander of Acque Minerali.
There is just one straight long enough for DRS here, between turns 19 and 2 - making this the most likely spot to see Alex flying past an opponent on the grid.
Following the cancellation in 2023, Alex took part in a charity virtual grand prix alongside Williams Esports drivers and James Vowles, to help provide relief for the Imola flood victims.
A DSQ in the virtual charity race for ignoring too many blue flags means we are certainly happy to see Albono back racing here for real this weekend… Andiamo, Alex!
