Alex is heading stateside for the final time this season — and he’ll be looking to put points on the board in Sin City.
Our Thai racer endured a challenging weekend in São Paulo last time out, but the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix offers the perfect opportunity to bounce back from Brazil.
A new addition to the F1 calendar in 2023, Albono was just two places away from securing a top 10 finish on his first visit to Nevada.
He’ll be keen to bridge that gap on this occasion, then, but will have to navigate the Las Vegas Strip Circuit’s unique challenges in Round 22.
They include the cold night air, high speeds along the venue’s long straights and a series of tight corners that wind around the city’s iconic strip.
The 6.201 km (3.853 miles) track contains a total 17 turns, with the DRS runs into Turn 5 and Turn 14 serving as the circuit’s prime overtaking spots in Sectors 1 and 3.
Sector 2 is more technical, however, as the drivers circumnavigate the eye-catching Sphere before heading out onto Las Vegas Boulevard.
Albono will also be hoping to replicate his impressive Qualifying performance in 2023, when he placed P6 before being upgraded to fifth on the starting grid after a penalty for Ferrari.
Another similar display this weekend could set him up nicely for a shot at points on Saturday.
