Alex is all set to head to Silverstone, Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s home race, for the ninth stop on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar.
Following a difficult weekend at the Red Bull Ring, Alex will be looking to make the most of the team's homecoming at a circuit renowned for its high-speed corners and rich racing history. With upgrades to the car and a special Union Jack inspired livery, he will be looking to maximise the weekend and challenge for points. This weekend’s Sprint format also provides Alex an extra opportunity to add to his current points tally.
Having scored points in each of the last three British Grands Prix, Alex will be encouraged to replicate this in front of the team's home crowd.
His thoughts:
“Silverstone is always one of the highlights of the season. The atmosphere is incredible, and with so many home fans supporting the team, it's a weekend everyone looks forward to. A huge thank you to everyone who'll be out there cheering us on - the energy you bring really does make a difference.”
“This year is a bit different with it being a Sprint weekend, so we'll have limited time to fine-tune the car before we're into sessions. It'll also be our first time driving Silverstone with these new regulations, which should make some of the high-speed sections interesting.”
“We are bringing a small upgrade package this weekend, and the goal is to maximise every session and hopefully give the home crowd plenty to cheer about.”
The track:
Silverstone is one of Formula 1’s most historical circuits, having hosted the first-ever Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950. At 5.891km, the track features 18 corners including the famous Maggots and Becketts. This sequence challenges drivers with high speed corners and quick direction changes.
Previous outings:
His first race at Silverstone as a full-time F1 driver was back in 2019, when he finished P12. Since then, Alex has delivered consistent results at the British Grand Prix, with his best finish being P8 which he achieved in 2020, 2023 and 2025.
