As we edge towards the new season, a wave of exciting changes await Alex in 2025. From a new teammate to a refreshed car and livery, here's a comprehensive look at what's to come for Albono this year…
New teammate
In a significant move for the team, Atlassian Williams Racing have signed Carlos Sainz to partner Alex during the 2025 season. Carlos' arrival follows his departure from Ferrari, and his addition is expected to bolster Williams’ competitiveness in the months ahead.
Both drivers will bring plenty of experience, as AA23 enters his fourth season with the team. The duo have already begun collaborating, with Carlos praising Alex as a "perfect" teammate. “It’s exactly the kind of relationship and the kind of teammate I need right now in Williams because we’re going to push flat out, both of ourselves, to try and bring this team back to the front,” he said. “And I think Alex is the perfect guy to do that.”
New car
Albono will be driving Williams’ brand-new FW47 this season — and there are already some positive signs after pre-season testing last week. “We've been good at low speed, " Alex explained, following his first stint at the Bahrain International Circuit. We've realised our low speed car is actually quite good, so we've been pretty happy with the balance in Sector 2.” Then, following Day 3 in Sakhir, he added: “We got a good long run in and a decent low-ish performance run style, ending the day with some more long runs. So, all in all, I’m positive.”
New livery (and title partner!)
Williams unveiled their 2025 livery at the F1 75 Live event in London last month. The livery encompasses a modern design, reflecting the historic team’s relationship with new title partner Atlassian. It features a gradient to symbolise that new era — moving from traditional Williams navy at the front to Atlassian’s signature blue on the engine cover — alongside classic white and blue detailing.
Introducing Albonos
Another thing that’s new is the arrival of ‘Albonos’ — a series of Fan Passport stamps that will be available throughout the season. Each design is a 3D digital avatar of our Thai racer, and you can collect these virtual stamps via the AA23 website and app. We’ve already released Alex’s welcome and pre-season testing stamps, but keep your eyes peeled for new ones during each Grand Prix weekend.

New opening race
Moving on from the recent tradition of starting the season in Bahrain, the 2025 calendar begins in Melbourne, Australia. This marks a return to Albert Park for the season opener, with the track last hosting Round 1 in 2019. The Australian Grand Prix looks set to be an exciting start to the season — and we can’t wait to see Alex back on track when the action gets under way!
