From lights out in Melbourne to a milestone 100th Grand Prix with Atlassian Williams F1 Team in Hungary, the first half of Alex Albon's 2026 campaign has been packed with highs, challenges and memorable moments. Before racing resumes after the summer break, let’s take a look back at every race from the season so far.

🇦🇺 Australia – A Positive Start

Alex kicked off the 2026 season with a solid P12 finish in Formula 1's new era. After qualifying P15, he navigated a chaotic race featuring multiple Virtual Safety Cars to gain positions, narrowly missing out on the points but leaving Melbourne with plenty of encouragement for the races ahead.

🇨🇳 China – Frustration in Shanghai

Shanghai brought a difficult weekend for Alex, with a hydraulics issue forcing him out before the Grand Prix had even begun. Despite showing determination in the Sprint race, the technical problem resulted in a rare DNS and an early end to a challenging weekend.

🇯🇵 Japan – Lessons Learned

The Japanese Grand Prix proved to be a challenging weekend for Alex, with car issues preventing him from fighting further up the order. After a promising start, the closing laps became an opportunity for Atlassian Williams Racing to gather valuable data, with multiple pit stops dropping Alex to P20 at the chequered flag.

🇺🇸 Miami – A Well Earned Reward

Alex secured his first point of the season with a P10 finish in Miami after an impressive opening lap launched him into the top 10. Strong race management and a composed defence in the closing stages ensured he held onto the final points-paying position.

🇨🇦 Canada – Luck Runs Out

Alex's Canadian Grand Prix weekend was defined by bad luck. After an incident in practice limited his running, he was running just outside the top 10 before contact from Oscar Piastri ended his race after just 11 laps.

🇲🇨 Monaco – Mastering Monaco

A determined drive saw Alex claim P8 in Monaco, equalling his best result at the iconic street circuit. Despite battery issues and multiple Safety Car interruptions, strong teamwork and race management earned the Thai driver a valuable points finish.

🇪🇸 Barcelona – A Record-Breaking Weekend

Despite a challenging race in Barcelona, Alex reached a special milestone by becoming the Williams driver with the most Grand Prix starts. A difficult car and a late technical issue limited his progress, turning his 96th race with the team into an opportunity to collect valuable data.

🇦🇹 Austria – Limited Opportunities in Spielberg

With no updates brought to the FW48, Alex faced a difficult challenge in Austria as the midfield battle remained incredibly tight. Despite a strong fight through multiple stints and a late push, he finished P17 after a race shaped by strategy and limited opportunities.

🇬🇧 Great Britain – A Weekend to Regroup

Silverstone proved to be a frustrating weekend for Alex, with difficulties in both the Sprint and Grand Prix limiting his chances of a strong result. Lap 1 contact in Sunday's race caused front wing damage and a puncture, before the team turned the remainder of the afternoon into a valuable testing session ahead of the races to come.

🇧🇪 Belgium – Encouraging Signs

Belgium offered renewed optimism for Alex and the team, with the FW48 showing encouraging pace throughout Friday. Although that promise didn't translate into a points finish on Sunday, Alex fought hard in the midfield to P15, leaving Spa with positives to build on heading into Hungary.

🇭🇺 Hungary – 100 Starts and Counting

Alex celebrated his 100th Formula 1 start with Atlassian Williams F1 Team at the Hungaroring, marking another special milestone in his Williams journey. Despite a determined drive and an alternative tyre strategy, traffic and the circuit's limited overtaking opportunities restricted his progress, with a post-race penalty promoting Alex to P17 at the chequered flag.
