Alex can take plenty of positivity into this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, after a pair of strong performances in his last two outings.
AA23 heads to Baku in fine form, following a 16-point return across trips to Zandvoort and Monza since the summer break.
The Dutch GP yielded a P5 finish, prior to a P7 placing in northern Italy last time out — and Alex is hoping to build on those displays when Round 17 gets underway.
“We’re coming to Baku with some good momentum after a strong return to the season following the summer break,” he said.
Albono enjoyed a successful stint at the Baku City Circuit last season, when he placed P7 as part of a double-points haul for Williams Racing.
As such, our Thai racer is looking forward to visiting the testing street track once again, as he targets a repeat performance by the Caspian Sea.
“Baku is a circuit that I enjoy driving, with a nice and familiar rhythm, but one you need to build up to throughout the weekend to be ready for Qualifying,” he explained.
“This track provides good opportunities for overtaking, so our plan will be to maximise both Saturday and Sunday as we continue fighting for P5 in the Championship.”
