Alex will be looking to round off the season in style when he heads to Abu Dhabi this weekend.
It has been a difficult few weeks for Albono, but our Thai racer can draw inspiration from previous successes on Yas Island.
After all, he placed P6 there in his maiden Formula 1 campaign with Red Bull Racing, before recording a P4 finish the following year.
The final venue of 2024 will present its challenges, however, after the track was modified in 2021 to increase the speed of a lap and improve wheel-to-wheel action.
First added to the calendar in 2009 and stretching across 5.281 km (3.281 miles), the Yas Marina Circuit kicks off with a short Sector 1 containing four corners, before Sector 2’s tight hairpin.
Two straights featuring DRS zones then follow — the first including a tight chicane and the second finishing with a sweeping left-hand hairpin.
A lap concludes with some of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’s most eye-catching elements, as the drivers twist around the island’s marina and under the Yas Hotel.
With first-class facilities for spectators, this day-night race is a fitting end to the F1 season — and Alex will harbour hopes of making Round 24 a memorable one for Williams Racing.
