Alex is back at Suzuka this weekend for the Japanese Grand Prix - a personal favourite for Albono, along with many of the other drivers.
The iconic flowing circuit is the only figure of eight layout on the calendar, making it a staple that both fans and drivers look forward to. 2024 represents the 34th Japanese Grand Prix, with Suzuka debuting back in 1987.
Boasting a balanced combination of 18 fast, medium and slow turns, the 5.8km circuit begins down the sole DRS straight past the pit lane, before reaching the complex seven-turn sequence that requires Alex to tackle a 180 degree hairpin before embarking on the famous ‘S Curves’.
As the track flows under itself, going past more iconic corners such as ‘Degners’ and ‘Spoon’, Albono will eventually cross back over the second sector, reaching the super fast ‘130R’. The speed trap here saw Alex clock the second fastest speed on the grid last year at 308.6 km/h.
Racing here for the fourth time in F1, Alex picked up his best finish back in 2019 - taking the chequered flag in P4 for Red Bull Racing.
After a week off, we can’t wait to see Albono back racing on the iconic figure-of-eight this weekend - let’s go!
