After a much needed break, Alex heads to Zandvoort for Round 12 of the 2026 Championship.
The return to racing also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Alex and Atlassian Williams F1 Team, following the announcement that he will continue with the team into 2027. With a sprint weekend ahead and plenty to look forward to in the second half of the season, Alex will be aiming to hit the ground running in the Netherlands.
With 2026 marking Zandvoort’s final appearance on the F1 calendar, the Dutch Grand Prix will be a special farewell to one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
The track:
Set among the sand dunes on the Dutch coast, Circuit Zandvoort is one of the most unique tracks on the F1 calendar. Measuring 4.259km, the circuit features 14 corners and a number of fast, flowing sections that make it a real test for the drivers. One of the most recognisable corners, Tarzan Corner, features an 18 degree banking, helping to make Zandvoort a distinctive and demanding circuit.
Previous outings:
Alex has plenty of experience at Zandvoort, having raced at the circuit during his junior career before returning with Atlassian Williams F1 Team. His best Formula 1 result at the circuit came just last year in 2025, when he finished P5 after qualifying P15 and making up 10 positions.
With 2026 marking the final Dutch Grand Prix on the F1 calendar, Alex will be looking to make the most of his last opportunity to race at Zandvoort and add another strong result to his record here.
The weather:
The weather could add another variable to the weekend, especially with Zandvoort’s unpredictable costal winds. Rain is possible on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday is currently expected to bring sunny intervals. With the sprint format leaving little room for error, changing conditions could make for an interesting weekend of racing.
And don’t forget to claim Alex’s latest Fan Passport stamp before racing concludes in Zandvoort. You can add this week’s Albono to your collection via the link below.
