Alex can look back on plenty of memorable moments over the past five months, as he heads into the summer break.
Our Thai racer has enjoyed a host of successes across the first 14 rounds of 2025 — and will surely harbour hopes of achieving even more, when the campaign resumes in late August.
AA23 currently sits eighth in the Drivers’ Standings, with only drivers from McLaren, Red Bull Racing, Mercedes and Ferrari achieving more than his 54 points to date.
He’s also helped Atlassian Williams Racing to fifth in the Constructors’ Standings, having made a significant contribution to their 70-point tally.
That reflects how far both Albono and Williams have come, following their 2024 totals of just 12 and 17 points, respectively.
And this term is shaping up to be an exciting precursor to next season, when the team will be hoping to take advantage of regulation changes to climb even further in the pecking order.
There were early signs that 2025 could be a memorable year, as Alex secured his best-ever opening weekend result in Melbourne — and his first P5 finish with Williams.
“I am very happy,” he said, when speaking after a particularly wet Australian GP. “Honestly, when you feel like the car's good and you feel like you're driving well, you just feel like you've got it covered, in a weird way.
“We've had these races before, and I knew that as a team we are good in these 'random' races, we get our elbows out.”
The result proved to be anything but random, though, as Albono went on to achieve two further top 10 finishes in Rounds 2 and 3, at the Shanghai International Circuit (P7) and the Suzuka International Racing Course (P9).
And though a P12 in Bahrain brought that hot streak to an end, it wasn’t long before AA23 put another run together, recording four back-to-back points hauls from Round 5 through to Round 9.
That sequence included consecutive P5s at the Miami GP and Emilia Romagna GP — remarkable feats considering he hadn’t hit those heights with Williams before this season.
“The consistent pace we’re showing opens up the window for what else we can do, so let’s keep going and enjoying it,” said Alex, after his stint in Imola.
Initially, that enjoyment ground to a halt, after a trio of frustrating DNFs in Spain, Canada and Australia, but it wasn’t long before the 29-year-old steadied the ship.
He returned to the top 10 with a P8 during Williams’ home race at Silverstone, then added a further eight points to his total by finishing sixth in Spa.
Last weekend’s Hungarian GP (P15) may have slowed down that revival somewhat, but — when taken in the context of the first 14 rounds — it looks like more of a blip, in an otherwise highly impressive season.
With another 10 Grands Prix on the horizon, starting with the Dutch GP from 29th-31st August, there are plenty of reasons to be positive ahead of 2025’s final furlong.
