The bracket is tightening in Pick of the Lids, and the margins are getting finer.
After two rounds of voting, just eight lids remain in the hunt to be crowned Alex’s ultimate helmet. Some have powered through with commanding wins, while others have had to dig deep to edge past their competition – but all have earned their place in the quarter-finals.

Here’s how your final eight made it this far:
The 2025 Singapore design has looked strong from the very start. Designed by Karlotta Freier, this lid breaks away from traditional racing motifs with bold green tones inspired by South East Asian themes and landscapes. A dominant 77% win in the opening round was followed by a more hard-fought 60% victory over the 2024 Monaco design, showing it can handle both comfortable and closer contests.
A perfect blend of brand and tradition, the 2025 Japan helmet has also taken a composed route to the quarters. Designed by Andy Werner, its Sakura blossom uplift brought a seasonal twist to Alex’s 2025 base design. Results of 67% and 58% have seen it progress without too much trouble, but tougher tests now await.
Things couldn’t have been tighter for the 2024 Las Vegas helmet. Crafted by Massimo Dante, this personal, gaming-inspired design tells the story of Alex’s journey from virtual racing as a kid to the F1 grid. It’s edged through both rounds with 54% of the vote, proving it knows how to survive under pressure.
In contrast, the 2022 Japan design has been one of the standout performers so far. The original Sakura uplift, it marked a special connection with Japanese fans and showed how a classic base could be transformed. A huge 97% landslide in the opening round was followed by another emphatic 84% win, making it one of the most dominant helmets left in the bracket.
The 2022 Silverstone helmet has taken a steadier route. This was the design that introduced the “Albon Zoo” to the world, with cartoon versions of Alex’s pets set against a striking purple base. A 72% win got it up and running, before a more measured 59% result saw it safely into the final eight.
Taking that concept even further, the 2024 Silverstone design has also made its mark. A collaborative piece featuring Miles Murphy, Massimo Dante and Anthony Orozco, it brought the “Pets Edition” merchandise designs to life in rich detail. After storming through the first round with 83%, it was pushed to the limit in the last 16, squeezing through with just 51%.
One of the most recognisable helmets in recent years, the 2024 China design has combined meaning with momentum. Featuring a full panda face to honour Chinese culture – and a personal link to Lily’s Chengdu roots – it’s both striking and sentimental. Strong wins of 85% and 68% underline its status as a serious contender.
Rounding things out, the 2026 Standard design has quickly established itself as a modern classic. Its white and chrome finish delivers a clean, high-impact look that stands out in any conditions. An 84% victory in the opening round showed its strength, while a tighter 58% result last time out proved it can handle the pressure too.
The first quarter finals are now live. Cast your votes and help decide which four designs move one step closer to the crown.
