Alex ready for 'physically demanding' stint in Singapore

Alex is preparing for a physically challenging weekend at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, as he targets a points-scoring performance in Singapore.

Our Thai racer is enjoying his best season with Atlassian Williams Racing to date, having racked up 11 top-10 finishes across 17 outings.

The team are also in the midst of their most productive campaign since 2016 — sitting fifth in the Constructors’ Standings with a total of 101 points on the board.

A first podium finish of the year was secured by Carlos Sainz in Baku, too, and Alex is hoping that Williams can continue to go from strength-to-strength over the coming weeks.

“The team had a great result in Baku, so hopefully we can keep building on these results as we head into the back half of the season, he said.

But Albono knows that a visit to the Garden City is packed full of challenges, as he looks to improve on a P13 finish at the Azerbaijan GP this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to racing in Singapore as it always feels like a home race for me and it will be great to be back in front of the fans and racing under the lights,” he explained.

“Singapore is a very different track to Baku; it’s a tight track and physically demanding with the heat and humidity, so acclimatising quickly and getting on pace is always a priority.

“Our focus will be on delivering in Qualifying and putting ourselves in the best possible position for the race.”
