After a spate of bad luck in recent races, Alex arrives in Brazil in the hope of a clean, issue-free weekend, as the triple header draws to a close in São Paulo.
The Thai racer had his previous race weekend in Mexico ruined with two separate and unavoidable incidents. Meanwhile, the weekend before in Austin, he endured significant floor and diffuser damage on the opening lap of the Grand Prix, which compromised his performance.
As Formula 1 heads to South America for Round 21 of the 2024 season, it will be more important than ever for the team to hit the ground running at the Interlagos track, due to the sprint race format.
But AA23 may have to contend with the unpredictable weather that has often impacted the São Paulo Grand Prix.
The Autódromo José Carlos Pace is also known for its undulating layout and technical corners, across 4.309 km (2.677 miles) and 15 turns.
The circuit begins with a series of fast downhill corners that require a great deal of skill to navigate, before progressing into the DRS run down to Turn 4.
Next up are the high-speed turns and elevation changes of Sector 2, before an uphill charge to the start-finish line in order to complete the lap.
With São Paulo’s vociferous fans set to create a memorable atmosphere, Alex will be hoping to push for a top-ten finish at one of Formula 1’s most exciting tracks.
