A busy October lies in store for Alex, with a trio of testing Grands Prix taking place across the next month.
The nearest event to Albono’s home country of Thailand kicks things off, when the Singapore GP gets underway in just a few days’ time.
Then it’s a change of continents for a pair of back-to-back race weekends, when AA23 visits Austin and Mexico City for Rounds 19 and 20 of the campaign.
Here’s what to look out for over the next few weeks…
3rd-5th October: Singapore Grand Prix
Alex took part in a live Q&A at the Atlassian Williams Racing Fan Zone yesterday evening, ahead of his upcoming stint in Singapore.
Now it’s time to get down to business, as he targets a 12th point-scoring return of 2025 at the iconic Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The venue hosted Formula 1’s first-ever night race back in 2008, and was also the sport’s first street track in Asia.
Races here continue to take place in the evening and typically thrill attendees with a combination of high speeds and tight corners, all set against the stunning Singaporean skyline.
AA23’s best result in the Garden City came in 2019, when he placed P6 while driving for Red Bull Racing — an outcome he’ll surely be looking to equal or better this weekend.
17th-19th October: United States Grand Prix
Round 19 will represent a complete change of scene for Alex, as he switches from Asia to North America for the United States GP.
Taking place in Austin, Texas, this is our Thai racer’s second stateside sojourn of the season, after recording a P5 finish at the Miami GP back in May.
Another similar result here would be more than satisfactory, of course, at a track that has only been on the F1 calendar since 2012.
However, Circuit of The Americas is a popular venue despite being a relatively new addition — primarily because it combines a number of the best features from other race tracks into one ‘greatest hits’ circuit.
Full focus will be required from Alex, as he takes on a range of corners, straights and elevation changes that test drivers to the limit.
24th-26th October: Mexico City Grand Prix
October concludes with a trip to the truly unique Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the Mexico City GP.
Renowned for its passionate fans and high altitude, the extreme nature of this track makes it a distinct challenge for teams and drivers alike.
Putting the 2200 metres above sea level altitude to one side for a minute, this venue is also eye-catching for the ‘Foro Sol’ — an old baseball stadium that the track runs though, with one of the best atmospheres in Formula 1.
Albono placed P9 here with Williams Racing back in 2023, so can draw inspiration from that visit when the team head there for the campaign’s 20th race of 2025.
