The Formula 1 season is underway in 2024!
Bahrain played host to the season opener under the lights in the Sakhir Desert, and Alex drove well in difficult circumstances to record a P15 finish.
Power unit temperature issues were commonplace across the Mercedes-powered cars, and Alex was forced to carry out cooling measures at several points throughout the Grand Prix.
A strong start saw him rise to P11 for a short period, going longer than most on the soft tyre across the opening stint and eventually rising as high as P3.
While the field did come back to him after he pitted on lap 17, Alex showed good skill to keep pace with those around him.
A colder than usual Bahrain Grand Prix meant that tyre performance was better than expected, and Alex was certainly able to get the most out of his three sets across the race.
And although the points positions proved a bridge too far, Alex and his team will have taken several key learnings from the weekend, as focus switches immediately to Saudi Arabia next week.
