Alex's 2025 season ends with a P16 finish in the Abu Dhabi GP, and P8 in the final championship standings secured.
The 24 rounds of 2025 saw Albono scoring points over a dozen weekends en route to his best season finish and points tally since 2020.
Sadly it wasn't a top-10 result for the season showdown, but Alex tried a plucky two-stop strategy to see him finish higher than where he started.
Opting for the Softs alongside Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg, Alex drove a punchy first lap from P17 to get ahead of Lance Stroll and Andrea Kimi Antonelli to reach P15.
A brief investigation for some side-by-side moments with Hamilton was swiftly looked over with no further action from the stewards and Alex settled in among a long DRS train.
A pit stop for Hulkenberg on Lap 7 kickstarted early stops for the other Soft tyre runners, and Alex switched the Hards alongside Hamilton on Lap 8.
Escaping that tight midfield pack allowed faster running, and Alex began to leapfrog those on more traditional strategies of starting on the Mediums.
Advancing up to P13 was the highest he ran after others swapped tyres, but the ageing rubber began to hurt, with Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman passing with their younger Pirellis.
The second stop was inevitable, coming on Lap 33, dropping Alex to the back with Medium tyres equipped for the final 25 laps of 2025.
Sadly five more seconds were added to Alex's time for speeding in the pit lane, though without any further stop, those seconds were added to his race time, but resulted in no change in his position.
Passing Franco Colapinto and Liam Lawson gave Alex some fun moments of overtaking in the final laps, but it was offset by Lance Stroll and Hulkenberg getting past as tyre strategies played their part.
Alex's final pass of the season came on Isack Hadjar, getting past the VCARB at Turn 6 and staying alongside the Frenchman entering Turn 9 but crucially keeping ahead.

"Thank you for the massive contribution you've made to the team this year. From round one and beyond, you should be proud of yourself," was the message from the pit wall.
"Well done, Alex," said Atlassian Williams Team Principal James Vowles. "Thank you! A really, really great season and it finishes P5. Let's go forward on that for next year, there's a lot more to come. I can't wait!"
Alex replied by saying, "Thank you, James. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, Grove.
"Thank you, Team 23, you guys are amazing. Definitely some ups and downs, but mostly ups. And, plenty to look forward to in the future. Thank you again, and get some rest! We all need it!"
After getting out of the cockpit, Alex expanded on his post-race thoughts:
"Firstly, I’m very happy for Lando and his Championship win. He’s taken a big step forward this year, risen to the pressure and his title is well-deserved.
"For us, it was a tricky race today. We had a great start, but we were never in a place where we had the tyre advantage, which meant we were stuck in a bit of a train.
"The last few races have been tough, but overall, it’s been a great season for us. I’m proud of the team and proud to finish top of the midfield.
"There’s no big secret behind it; just hard work, good leadership from James, and building some strong foundations.
"We’ve come a long way this season, and we’re heading into 2026 with a lot of optimism and a great mentality.
"I’m confident we can do great things next year, so I’m already excited to get back on track in 2026!"
