Alex’s time at Williams has already delivered plenty of memorable moments. From standout performances to helping the team achieve its best Constructors’ Championship finish since 2016, he’s played a key role as Williams continues its journey in Formula 1.
The Thai driver has also become a record breaker along the way. At the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, Alex made his 96th race start for Williams, surpassing Nigel Mansell’s long standing record to become the team’s most experienced F1 driver by race starts.
He then reached another milestone in Budapest, making his 100th start for Williams – a landmark few drivers have reached with the team.
Now, with 2027 marking Williams’ 50th anniversary, Alex will be there to help write their next chapter
“I think one tough year doesn't paint a full picture of the story that I've had with Williams, and I've seen progress year to year”, Alex shared following the announcement. “Of course, it's been a frustrating year so far, but it doesn't make me not believe in this team, and its ambitions, and what I believe the team can achieve.”
Albono also has a message for his fans who have continued to show their support along the way: “Thank you for staying with us and continuing your support throughout this year. I still see a huge number of blue hats and blue flags for us, so I appreciate all of you.”
“It's times like this that we need to stay together in order to come out stronger. And when we get back to the level of competitiveness we showed last year and beyond, it'll taste all the sweeter.”
The story continues in 2027, and we can't wait to see what's up next! 💙
