Alex hopeful of points-scoring performance at Las Vegas GP

Here’s what AA23 had to say ahead of his upcoming stint in Nevada

Alex believes that Atlassian Williams Racing can overcome their recent difficulties to put points on the board in Las Vegas.

Our Thai racer has enjoyed an impressive season piloting the FW47, but the last few Grands Prix have been challenging for both Albono and the team.

AA23 has only scored points in the United States GP Sprint since early September, after securing 11 top-10 finishes across the campaign’s first 16 rounds.

However, he is hopeful that a corner can be turned in Sin City this weekend, thanks to plenty of hard work behind the scenes.

“It’s great to be back in Vegas for the third time,” Alex said, before going on to reveal his optimism ahead of Round 22.

“We have been busy working in the sim and having engineering debriefs to prepare for the triple and to find solutions for recent issues so that we can put ourselves in a good position to score points this weekend.”

Albono is fully aware of the challenges he’ll face over the coming days, though — and feels that maximising Free Practice could be crucial to his chances of success.

“Vegas should be a good track for us with the long straights and high speeds, but the lower temps and track conditions will require us to extract the most out of the car early on in practice sessions,” he explained.

“Let’s see what the week brings!”
