The 2026 season may still be over a month away, but Alex’s has plenty going on this February.
Preparations for the upcoming campaign are continuing apace for our Thai racer, as he gears up for his fifth year with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team.
And after spending a pre-season training camp in Palm Springs during January, Albono will get the chance to put the team’s new FW48 through its paces over the coming weeks.
Here’s what’s coming up for AA23 this month…
3rd February: Atlassian Williams F1 Team livery reveal
Excitement is building ahead of next season, and Williams’ livery reveal is another key moment en route to the first race of 2026.
Fans waiting to see how Alex’s car will be kitted out don’t have too much longer to wait, with the FW48’s new design being released to the public tomorrow at precisely 2pm GMT.
The team’s New Era kit has already been revealed, but we’re looking forward to seeing the final piece of the puzzle on Tuesday!
11th-13th & 18th-20th February: Pre-season Testing
Alex is set to finally return to the track for a double helping of pre-season testing later this month, at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
Albono will be looking to rack up the laps at a venue where he has claimed a trio of top-ten finishes across his Formula 1 career, including a spot on the podium when he placed third with Red Bull Racing in 2020.
There’s certainly plenty of time for Alex to get a feel for his new vehicle, with a three-day Test next week (Wednesday 11th-Friday 13th February) followed by a further three days from Wednesday 18th-Friday 20th February.
We’ll keep you up to date with all the goings on in Bahrain on AA23 website and app.
Looking further ahead
Once testing is out of the way, there’s not too long a wait before the 2026 season finally gets up and running.
The first race of the year takes place from 6th-8th March, when Alex heads down under to take part in the Australian Grand Prix.
He’ll have fond memories of the Albert Park Circuit, of course, having finished P5 there on the opening weekend of last term.
A trip to Shanghai (13th-15th March) immediately follows that stint in Melbourne, where Alex will be keen to equal or better his P7 placing at last year’s Chinese Grand Prix.
It’s then time for Albono to celebrate his 30th birthday on 23rd March, before wrapping up the month with a visit to Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix.
