Final push at the Hungaroring before the summer break

After an intense run of races, Alex heads to Budapest for Round 11 of the 2026 Championship at the Hungaroring, the final stop before Formula 1's summer break.

Known for its tight and twisty layout, the Hungaroring presents a very different challenge to Spa-Francorchamps. This race start will also mark Alex’s 100th with Atlassian Williams Formula 1 Team! With a century of starts to celebrate and points at the Hungaroring for Williams still to chase, Alex will be aiming to head into the summer shutdown on a high.

His thoughts:

The track:

Located just outside Budapest, the Hungaroring has been a staple of the Formula 1 calendar since 1986. Measuring 4.381km in length, the circuit features 14 corners and demands precision from drivers throughout the 70-lap Grand Prix. With a lack of straights and a relentless sequence of corners, maintaining rhythm around the technical, low-grip circuit is key.

Previous outings:

Alex's history with the Hungaroring stretches back over a decade, having first raced at the circuit in 2013 during his Formula Renault 2.0 days. Since then, he's returned across multiple junior categories, claiming victories in both GP3 and Formula 2 before making his Formula 1 debut at the venue in 2019. Alex’s best performance around the Hungaroring in Formula 1 came in 2020 with a P5 finish.
