The business end of the season is drawing into view, as Alex heads to Austin for the first of six remaining Grands Prix in 2025.
Our Thai racer will be looking to get back among the points at Circuit of the Americas, following tricky stints in Azerbaijan and Singapore over the last two rounds.
But he can draw inspiration from previous performances in Texas, as well as a current campaign that has yielded 70 points and 11 top-10 finishes to date.
As Albono prepares for this second stateside trip of the year, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming United States GP…

Previous trips to Texas

Alex’s first visit to Circuit of the Americas came back in 2019, when he placed P5 there with Red Bull Racing during his maiden F1 season.
He’s also secured points in Texas with Atlassian Williams Racing, though, having finished P9 while driving for the British outfit in 2023.
As with this edition of the United States GP, that race weekend included a Sprint, with Alex narrowly missing out on the points after placing ninth.
But AA23 made amends the following day, when he climbed impressively from 15th on the starting grid to initially come 11th, before being elevated two places after post-race penalties elsewhere.
With team-mate Logan Sargeant also finishing P10, Alex reflected on a successful weekend for the team, saying:
“I’m very happy for the team and especially Logan for scoring points today.
“We had our luck, but we were there to take it! My race felt a little compromised without any new Mediums, as we used them all yesterday in the Sprint.
“We also struggled with the Hards, forcing us to run our used Mediums.
“Nonetheless, to walk away with points is great for the team as we close out the remainder of the season.”
Albono's 2024 trip to Texas was also a notable outing, as he racked up his 100th Grand Prix in Formula 1 last October.

Track guide

Circuit of the Americas was only added to the Formula 1 calendar in 2012, despite the United States GP’s history dating back to 1959.
However, it has already developed a reputation as something of a fan-favourite, after combining some of the best elements from other race tracks around the world.
Running across 5.513 km (3.426 miles) and featuring 20 turns, this track offers a stern test for drivers and teams, thanks to its elevation changes and diverse range of corners.
A lap of Circuit of the Americas begins with a climb to Turn 1 where opportunities for overtaking arise, before a sharp hairpin and additional passing spot in Sector 2.
A multi-apex in Sector 3 reminiscent of Istanbul Park brings things to a close, at one of F1’s most intriguing venues.

Keep up to date

Things look a little different with this weekend featuring a Sprint Race, but there’s one thing that isn’t changing — the AA23 website and app are still the best places to follow Alex’s progress!
Our live blog will bring you updates on all the action, starting with the only Free Practice session of Round 19 on Friday at 12.30pm local time (CDT).
Then it’s Sprint Qualifying later that day (4.30pm), before the Sprint (12pm) and Qualifying (4pm) on Saturday.
Finally, the race itself gets underway at 2pm CDT on Sunday.
