Alex is all set for the fifth round of the 2026 Formula 1 season, with the team arriving in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix following an encouraging weekend in Miami.
The trip to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve marks another Sprint weekend and presents a very different challenge for Alex and the team after the heat and smooth surface of Florida.
"Miami was a real step in the right direction for us – it was great to see the upgrades running well, to properly fight in the midfield and bring home a double points finish,” he said.
“But we know Montreal is a very different challenge, and that Miami tends to suit us as a circuit, so the focus now is on carrying that momentum somewhere that will truly test where we are.
“Canada always delivers unpredictable weather and a high likelihood of Safety Cars, and with it being another Sprint weekend, every session counts.
“There is still plenty more to unlock with the package and we'll keep pushing as a team. We want to leave Montreal with a clearer picture of where we stand and where we can keep making gains ahead of the European season."
With limited practice running, getting up to speed quickly this weekend would be a huge benefit
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is one of the most distinctive tracks on the calendar, combining long straights and heavy braking zones with tight, low-speed chicanes that punish even the smallest mistakes.
Then there’s the famous Wall of Champions waiting at the exit of the final corner – a barrier that has caught out some of Formula 1’s biggest names over the years.
With limited practice time across the Sprint format and changing weather often playing a role in Montreal, adaptability across the weekend could prove crucial.
