Preparations are well under way for the Italian Grand Prix — and last year’s performance in Monza is certainly cause for optimism.
Alex finished P7 at the ‘Temple of Speed’ in 2023, so should be confident of placing among the points once again.
He will be joined by a different team-mate this weekend, however, following the news that Franco Colapinto is replacing Logan Sargeant at Williams for the remainder of the season.
Albono was quick to pay tribute to Logan, having driven alongside him since the 2023 campaign.
“Firstly, Logan has been a great team player for the past two years, and I know what he's capable of, so it's only a matter of time before he proves this to everyone in whatever he chooses to do next,” he said.
AA23’s attention then turned to his previous outing in the Netherlands, when a technical infringement saw him start at the back of the grid — despite initially qualifying in P8.
“Reflecting on Zandvoort, it was a tough weekend, and it's vital that, as a team, we address the processes that led to the disqualification while acknowledging the silver lining that the car was competitive,” he explained.
That competitive performance is a major boost ahead of Round 16 in Italy, raising Alex’s hopes of a successful stint at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
“We have historically had a fast car in Monza, so I hope we can achieve a strong result and score some points,” he said.
