Alex looks to round off successful season with more points in Abu Dhabi

Here’s what Albono had to say ahead of his upcoming stint at the Yas Marina Circuit

Alex was in a contemplative mood when speaking ahead of this weekend’s Abu Dhabi GP, as he reflected on a successful 2025 season with Atlassian Williams Racing.

The 29-year-old has certainly enjoyed a year to remember, having already put 73 points on the board and placed in the top 10 on 11 occasions — as well as claiming a P6 Sprint finish at the United States GP.

That record included four top-five berths, as our Thai racer’s tally helped Williams secure P5 in the Constructors’ Championship.

Albono was understandably pleased with that achievement, as the campaign’s final round draws into view.

“Entering the last race weekend of the year it is great to have secured P5 in the Constructors’ Championship,” he said.

“The team has worked so hard this year and I'm proud of what we've accomplished together since I joined Williams back in 2022.

“On a personal level, I reflect positively on this season which has been my best performance-wise with Williams.”

However, there certainly won’t be any let-up from Alex when Round 24 gets underway, with our Thai racer targeting more points at the Yas Marina Circuit.

“Looking towards this weekend, we want to finish the season on a high with a good points haul in Abu Dhabi, before going into the off-season and getting some much-needed rest ahead of an even busier 2026 season,” he explained.

Williams Racing Driver Academy prospect Luke Browning will be taking over Albono’s FW47 for Free Practice 1, but he’ll be back in the car for FP2 at 5pm GST on Friday.

Free Practice 3 starts at 2.30pm on Saturday, before Qualifying later that day (6pm). Finally, the race itself begins at 5pm GST on Sunday.
