We can bring you confirmation that Alex will not compete this afternoon in FP2 following his accident. He left the car uninjured, however the team must assess the damage that occurred to his FW46, hence the withdrawal from the session. We'll be back stronger together tomorrow and hope to see Albono in FP3.

FP1 comes to a close here in Melbourne. Despite the incident, the session ends with Alex still in P12. We'll be back in a couple of hours to bring you all the updates from FP2, let's hope we'll see Albono back on track today...

Alex's FW46 gets lifted off the track by the stewards. It's difficult to tell the extent of the damage so far - Practice session 1 is over for our Thai driver, however fingers crossed things can be fixed and we'll see Albono in FP2...

So unfortunate - a loss of control at Turns 6 and 7 and Alex clips the wall pretty hard. Albono is safely out the car and looks to be unhurt which is the main thing. Red flag here as a result...

Alex rolls back out onto track with a fresh set of softs...

Alex heads back to the garage for now, having completed 9 laps so far in FP1...

Albono with a 1:19.443 and moves up to P10 for now...

"Over rotation at the apex...at low speed I'm struggling to turn the car...rear locking is on the high side at sector 3..."

Another quicker time from Alex, going P12 with a 1:19.742...

"The brakes don't feel very good at all, when I brake it feels like I go left and right..."

Alex improves on his time with a 1:20.451 to move up to P14 for now...

"Brakes feel quite long and spongey..."

Albono sets a first time of 1:21.892 to go P18 for now...
